The body shop had just finished a complete restoration of the 1963 Chevrolet Impala when someone drove off in the car around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, according to a news release from the Garden Grove Police Department.

The business, which is located in the 7300 block of Garden Grove Boulevard (map), was preparing to give the car back to its owner when the vehicle was taken, police said.

The vehicle “is one-of-a-kind and very recognizable,” the release stated. It was described as red with a white top, and had a license plate of 7DLG260.

Anyone who has seen the convertible was asked to call 911 or Garden Grove police Lt. Ben Stauffer at 714-741-5899
