A male driver and female passenger were taken into custody Monday night after a high-speed pursuit ended in a Santa Ana cul-de-sac.

The chase began at 9:21 p.m. in the area of the 91 Freeway and Imperial Highway, according to Officer Kevin Flanagan of the Anaheim Police Department. Officers attempted to pull over a 2013 white Ford Focus for an alleged traffic violation, Flanagan said, but the driver failed to stop.

A 20-minute pursuit ensued, and was taken over by Santa Ana police when the car entered that city.

More than a dozen police vehicles were at the scene after the Focus came to stop in the cul-de-sac, in the 2300 bock of East Wilshire Avenue.
