A ridge of high pressure will bring well above average temperatures through the end of the week. Some inland locations will flirt with record highs, particularly in the mountains and lower deserts. Along the coast, a weak sea breeze will keep temperatures closer to average. Weakening of the ridge over the weekend will usher in a cooler a cooler air mass next week.
