Final preparations were underway early Friday for an 80-hour closure of lanes along a six-mile stretch of the 405 Freeway this Presidents Day weekend.
The closures, which have been dubbed “Jamzilla,” will affect the northbound portion of the 405 Freeway through the Sepulveda Pass. They are scheduled to begin Friday night at 10 p.m. and last through Tuesday morning at 6 a.m., according to Los Angeles transportation officials.
Just two northbound lanes between between Getty Center Drive and Ventura Boulevard will be open during the day, while all lanes will be closed in that direction at night.
The full and partial closures were being enacted so that crews could finish a new carpool lane.
