Gayle Anderson was live in Los Angeles to remind everyone the 2014 ASICS LA Marathon will be held Sunday, March 9th. Running a race is a great way of improving your health/fitness and self-confidence. However, running on behalf of a charity is proving more and more popular.
Today’s segment features the Dream Center, a 2014 ASICS LA Marathon Official Charity. Support the Dream Center’s Run for Hope Team and help support lives torn apart by human trafficking. Proceeds raised will benefit the Dream Center’s human trafficking program which rescues, rebuilds, and restores the lives of adult female survivors. The Dream Center is the only charity running for the cause of human trafficking. There are currently 120 runners from the Dream Center committed to running and fundraising for the Running for Hope Team. Team runners are involved in various programs such as foster care intervention and Adopt A Block. Ther are also 4 girls from the human trafficking program running. Human trafficking is a modern-day form of slavery that has an estimated 27 million victims in the world today. It is an industry valued at over $32 billion that targets children, mostly young girls. The average age of a human trafficking victim is 12 to 14. California is among the top three states in the nation for domestic and international trafficking with Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego serving as hotspots. Immigration agents estimate that 20,000 women are being held in Los Angeles’ underground brothels. Information courtesy The Dream Center.
In order to help victims of human trafficking, The Dream Center provides two shelters—a 72-hour rescue center and a long-term rehabilitation and restoration program that provides intense counseling, medical and legal needs as well as GED and job search services.
Founded in 1994, the Dream Center is a volunteer-driven organization that finds and fills the needs of over 50,000 individuals and families each month. In addition to its Human Trafficking Program, the Dream Center provides mobile hunger relief and medical programs, residential rehabilitation programs for teens and adults, transitional housing for homeless families, foster care intervention programs, job skills training, life skills counseling, basic education, Bible study and more. For more information, visit Dream Center.

The NutriBullet System is designed to create healthy and nutritious NutriBlast drinks from your favorite fruits, vegetables and boost (nuts, seeds, herbs). More efficient than a juicer and blender, NutriBullet uses extractor technology to break down and pulverize the stems, seeds, and skins of food, which is where the essential nutrition lies. For more information, visit nutribullet.

Los Angeles Convention Center, West Hall
1201 South Figueroa Street
