Sheriff’s deputies arrested Michelle Fletcher, 27, after responding to a call that a young child was being assaulted, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were told Fletcher was allegedly kicking the boy and using a belt to assault him.

The boy was airlifted to a Los Angeles area hospital for evaluation and treatment, the release stated. He was listed in good condition.

An 8-month-old girl was also found in the home and was taken into protective custody, the release stated.

Authorities said Fletcher was the baby’s mother, but that the boy was not her son.

Fletcher was being held on $100,000 bail.

Anyone who may have witnessed other incidents involving Fletcher was urged to call the Special Victims Bureau at 877-710-5273.
