Deputies Searching for Vandals Who Shot Out Car Windows in Lancaster

A search was underway Monday in Lancaster for the culprits who used a pellet gun to shatter the windows on dozens of cars, authorities said.

The incidents occurred between 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Most of the cars were parked near Challenger Way and Avenue K (map), the Sheriff’s Department said.

At least 31 vehicles were vandalized.

Two businesses also had windows in their buildings shattered, officials said.

One business was located in the 44700  block of Beech Avenue.  The second incident happened in the 44400 block of 20th Street East, the Sheriff’s Department said.

Investigators said the incidents may have been a prank.

No arrests have been made.
