The video, posted to YouTube on Saturday by Jill Freeland, was taken at Moby Dick restaurant on Stearns Wharf.

“High tide and big swell can make for some salty eggs!!” Freeland wrote in the caption. “Great front row seat for a much needed storm in our area.”

In the video, a man and a woman can be seen seated at a table right next to a window.

“There’s another one,” the woman can be heard saying as a swell appears to gain momentum outside the restaurant.

Moments later, the wave bursts through the windows, shattering the glass and eliciting screams from some diners as it crashed.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured.

The huge wave came amid a high surf advisory in Santa Barbara that was issued by the National Weather Service.

The advisory was scheduled to remain in effect until 5 p.m. Sunday.
