Get a close-up view of the costumes from the most recently Oscar-nominated films at the 22nd Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibition currently on display at the FIDM Museum and Galleries.

See the costumer’s art from movies such as 12 Years a SlaveAmerican HustleThe GrandmasterThe Great Gatsby and The Invisible Woman and other films.

Admission is FREE, but if you want to know “the behind the scenes” stories about these magnificent costumes there are curator-led tours are available for 20-dollars per person.

This is a sure sign of spring. The Flower Fields of Carlsbad opens this weekend. Visitors can appreciate Mother Nature’s more than 50 acres of flowers from ranunculus, roses, orchids, and more.

Here’s another sign of spring. The wineries of the Temecula Valley open their wine cellar doors this weekend for guests to enjoy their annual World of Wine Barrel tasting event.

Tickets are still available to enjoy a self-guided wine country tour that will take you to more than 30-wineries, where you will find wine will be paired with delicious food samplings.

This event is limited to guests 21 years and over. Event will be held rain or shine.

And, here’s one more sign of spring. The 25th Annual Mardi Gras at the Original Farmers Market at Third and Fairfax in Los Angeles. The party will include nine bands – from Cajun to Zydeco to New Orleans music as well as craft activities.

The fun begins at Noon with the quirky pet and beauty pageant known as the Mutti Gras.

This is the LAST WEEKEND to see “SPY: The Secret World of Espionage” at the Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. The SPY exhibit includes never before seen objects and documents from the CIA, KGB, FBI, National Reconnaissance Office and the clandestine world of spies.
In addition, visitors get a chance to become a spy with the exhibit’s numerous interactives including secret writing, disguise and voice changing, and a laser maze.

This is the last weekend to see a suite of special exhibitions and programs entitled FOWLER AT FIFTY. Nearly 1,000 objects from the Fowler’s more than 100-thousand acclaimed and diverse artifacts, from Africa to Latin America and more, are on display until the end of the day today.

The Los Angeles ABILITIES EXPO features an impressive line-up of exhibits, celebrities, workshops, events and activities to appeal to people of all ages coping with a full spectrum of disabilities.

One of the many vendors at the ABILITIES EXPO is EcoCentre, a Southern California-based electric car company and its newest vehicle, the Eco-M, a vehicle specifically designed for wheelchair users, which offers personal mobility without having to depend on assistance from friends, family or public transportation.

Experience the thrill of seeing the California Gray Whales, that take the longest migration of any mammal each year – traveling more than 6,000 miles in each direction – at the 43rd Annual Dana Point Festival of Whales.

Experts report the Gray Whale uses the Dana Point Headlands 200-foot cliffs near the harbor, as a navigational landmark to check their migration path.  Approximately 25 percent of the Gray Whale population follow the coastline during migration – experts say that means during the peak December through March peak season  — 40 – 50 whales pass Dana Point each day.

In addition to whales you’ll see dolphin, porpoise, sea lions and a host of other marine wildlife.
