Surveillance video showed the women entering the Serenity salon early on Saturday.

“They just came in through the back acting like regular customers,” Hector Nieves, salon manager said.

While the first woman sat down for a consultation with a stylist, the second woman went into the back of the shop presumably for a glass of water, Nieves said.

On the surveillance video, the second woman was seen grabbing one of the employee’s handbags and ducking out the back door.

The first woman then made up a story about why she had to leave and quickly exited the same way, Nieves said.

Other shops in the area had also been targeted by the same two women, according to Nieves.
