A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI Wednesday morning after his car went over an embankment and ended up upside down in the backyard of a home in Placentia, police said.
The incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on Rose Drive north of East Orangethorpe Avenue (map), according to the Placentia Police Department.
A palm tree that the car collided with kept the vehicle from crashing into the home, authorities said.
The driver, identified only as a 34-year-old male, sustained minor injuries in the collision, according to Placentia police Sgt. Scott Audiss.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash was under investigation, Audiss said.
KTLA’s Crystal Garcia contributed to this report.
