Sky5 was over the scene on Artesia Boulevard near Mid Counties (map) at about 7:15 a.m., where water from a sheared fire hydrant was shooting into the air.

Power lines from a downed pole and a bicycle nearly covered by water could also be seen in the street.

The bicyclist, who was unidentified, was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, according to Captain Steve Hurdle of the Orange County Fire Authority.

It was unclear how the bicyclist was injured.

No one else was transported from the scene, Hurdle said.

A SigAlert was issued for the closure of Artesia Boulevard between Knott Avenue and Altura Boulevard due to the downed power lines and damaged hydrant.

Areal video from Sky5 at about 8:15 a.m. showed crews had managed to shut off the water at the scene.
