Patrick Dodenhoff was being sought after allegedly pulling down his pants and exposing himself to a woman inside the store on Monday in an act that was captured on surveillance video, according to a news release from the Brea Police Department.

Dodenhoff also allegedly made lewd comments to the woman before leaving the store, the release stated.

After identifying Dodenhoff as the suspect, officers tracked him to San Diego where he was arrested during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 at Balboa Avenue on Thursday, according to the release.

He was being held without bail on suspicion of felony indecent exposure with prior convictions and a parole violation, the release stated.

Police said the 49-year-old was on parole after being released from state prison in December of 2013. He was living in the San Luis Obispo area and was ordered to wear a GPS monitor, according to the release.

But on March 3 Dodenhoff removed his GPS device and disappeared, police said.

Detectives were investigating Dodenhoff in connection with similar crimes within the past week in Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo, San Diego and Torrance.

Anyone with information was urged to contact Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS.
