A recent graduate from the University of Southern California was believed to be among the 239 people on board Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, according to the Daily Trojan student newspaper.
Qiao Xing, 27, graduated from USC in 2012 with a master’s degree in petroleum engineering, the paper reported.
She worked for the Shell Oil Company in Beijing, China.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared on Mar. 8, en route from the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
On Saturday, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said the jet’s disappearance was no accident.
“Evidence is consistent with someone acting deliberately from inside the plane,” Najib said.
