Christopher Anthony Brown, 44, was found guilty last month of two counts of murder with special circumstances, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Crystal Dawkins had flown to Lancaster from South Carolina to spend Thanksgiving with her mother, Christine Bacon, whom she had not met since birth, according to the release.

During the visit, prosecutors said Brown became convinced that Bacon intended to end their relationship and keep the house they shared.

During an argument Brown shot both women multiple times, the release stated.

When Dawkins didn’t come home after her visit her father flew out to California and began looking for her.

His inquiries ultimately led sheriff deputies to the couple’s home where the bodies of the two women were found.
