The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call around 8:45 a.m. at 10800 North Susana Pass Road (map), a tweet stated.

The victim was found dead upon arrival, LAFD spokesperson Katherine Main said.

No one aboard the train was injured, Main said.

The train was Amtrak No. 761 heading northbound from Los Angeles to San Luis Obispo and had about 250 passengers onboard, Amtrak spokesperson Vernae Graham said.

Amtrak passengers could expect significant delays throughout the day since the incident occurred in a single track area, Graham said.

Amtrak customers were encouraged to go to amtrak.com to find out their train status, Graham said.

Metrolink Line 110 from Ventura County to Los Angeles was canceled, Metrolink spokesperson Jeff Lustgarten said.

It was not yet known if Metrolink would have to cancel trains scheduled to travel through the area later in the day, Lustgarten said.
