Promotion Manager

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will manage and coordinate the daily creative, promotion and marketing efforts for KTLA5 Los Angeles. Reporting to the two senior managers above, these responsibilities include leadership of the station’s Creative Services department, and a core mandate to increase audience ratings for the station’s slate of programming, particularly its local news products.
Job Duties:

*A demonstrated ability to understand and interpret market research, station brands, and marketing agendas-

*Work closely with GM and SVP on long-term, research-based marketing strategy-

*Leadership of the KTLA Creative team, generating network quality on-air and external media creative product

*Work in concert with Senior Department Heads on strategic business goals

*Departmental budget planning and oversight

*Outside media planning, budgeting and oversight

*Network and program supplier relations and coordination

*Programming promotion creative

*Sales support and direct client marketing needs

*Direct experience developing and producing creative, with high-end production sensibility and proven history

*Outstanding writer and business communicator
Job Requirements:

*Strong and proven local news marketing background

*3 years’ experience leading a minimum 6 person creative department

*Proven ability & experience to manage strategically

*Research-based experience and disciplined approach to marketing and promotion

*Administrative experience

*Ability to lead and direct a strong team, deliver compelling and award-worthy creative product

*Fluency with Microsoft Suite and other typical office software, along with an ability to learn additional

*Ability to manage multiple projects under extreme deadline pressure

*Dedication, passion, and a strong work ethic are prerequisites

*BA Degree preferred or equivalent experience

*Work samples commensurate with major market or network level quality

*Three industry references, three personal references
