The successful candidate will have strong understanding of the VizRT system for live broadcast to design, develop and implement all high-level VizRT functionality for the Tribune Television Station Group. A revised graphic News presentation that can be shared among the Tribune stations – and the ongoing development of new elements and special programming of applications will be a critical goal for this individual. Specifically having an understanding of building scenes, templates and playback through Trio and Content Pilot. Must have extensive knowledge of Transition logic and the ability to troubleshoot issues. This position will also be required to train, mentor and improve station-level VizRT operators. The successful candidate will possess the highest competency and must have complete hands-on skills with all Viz operations and capabilities.
Design and build all Viz functionality for the Tribune television stations. Candidate will also design, develop and implement revised station news packages within Viz and will write code as a scripting programmer, Scripting to access data, System Intergrator, web designer/creates server IT, develop templates, and all associated functionality for shared use by Tribune stations. Will design and build virtual environments on the Viz platform. Will be required to train and mentor Viz operators and appropriate news personnel at the station level. An extremely high qualitative expertise in designing and producing graphic and animation content on the VizRT platform is the core competency for this position. Candidates will possess full fluency at every technical and operational level of the platform. Expert level, hands-on experience with Macintosh computers, operating systems, Apple creative design, editing and associated software is also required. Fluency with Microsoft Suite and other typical office software, along with an ability to learn additional Tribune proprietary business software is also required.
BA Degree preferred. Must have at least Three(3) years major market VizRT broadcast experience. Ability to manage multiple projects under extreme deadlines and pressure. Requires individual to also work creatively and collaboratively with other staff members; specifically with producers and production control staff. The right candidate will possess dedication, passion, a strong work ethic and all the while maintaining a sense of humor. Must be willing to travel.
Once candidate is selected for an interview; the candidate will be required to provide work samples and three industry references along with three personal references. Work samples should commensurate with major market or network level quality.
