Man Discovered Dead in LAX Hotel Pool; Investigation Underway

An investigation was underway early Monday after a man’s lifeless body was found in a pool at a hotel near Los Angeles International Airport, authorities said.

The man did not have a pulse and was not breathing when he was discovered at the bottom of the pool shortly before 1:30 a.m. at the Four Points Sheraton hotel located in the 9700 block of South Airport Boulevard (map), according to an alert from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were investigating the drowning, which was believed to be accidental, according to Sgt. Laura Curtin of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Division.

The man’s identity has not yet been released.

No other information was immediately available.
