Police in Corona were asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who kidnapped a woman from a Wal-Mart parking lot and sexually assaulted her.
It happened on April 4 around 9 p.m. as the woman was exiting her car in the parking lot of the store on McKinley Avenue.
The woman was approached by a white man in his 40s who asked her for some spare change, according to a news release from the Corona Police Department.
When the woman reached into her car to get the money, the man entered her vehicle and pulled out a knife, the release stated.
Police said he then ordered her to drive to a secluded area in Riverside County where he sexually assaulted her.
After the assault the woman was forced to drive the man to La Sierra and Indiana Avenues in Riverside, where he exited the car and fled on foot, according to the release.
The man was described as being around 5 feet 7 inches tall with a slender build.
He was wearing jeans, a grey pull over hooded sweatshirt and a black baseball cap.
Anyone with information was asked to call the Corona Police Department at 951-736-2330.
