wxstoryA fast-moving system will cross southwest California bringing mainly light rain along with gusty southwest to northwest winds. Showers will spread southward across Ventura and Los Angeles Counties Friday night into early Saturday. The best chance of showers will be Friday evening and overnight before sunrise Saturday. Storm totals are expected to be light, between 0.05 and 0.15 of an inch for the coast and valleys. At the foothills and mountains, slightly more, between 0.25 and 0.50 an inch. Snow levels will fall to near 5,000 feet by Friday night, with accumulations of 1-3 inches possible at the highest elevations. Winds will be a greater issue beginning Friday with speeds up to 35 mph for the coast and valleys and around 50 mph at the mountains. The stronger winds may persist into Saturday evening before diminishing  Saturday night into Sunday.  Click on the image to enlarge.
