Moorpark Woman Sexually Assaulted During Burglary: Police

Authorities on Thursday were asking for the public’s help in locating two men who allegedly sexually assaulted a young woman during a burglary in Moorpark.

The incident occurred in the 4700 block of Elderberry Avenue (map) last Wednesday around 11:15 a.m., according to a joint news release from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and the Moorpark Police Department.

The 24-year-old victim was returning home when she discovered the two men attempting to take stuff from inside the residence, the release said.

They had entered the home through an unlocked door, according to authorities.

The victim told police she was sexually assaulted after being confronted by the men, the release stated.

Both men fled the residence and were last seen running north towards Courtney Lane.

One of the suspects was described as a white male between the ages of 25 and 35, standing 6 feet 2 to 6 feet 4 inches tall, and wearing all black clothing and a dark-colored beanie, according to authorities.

The second was described as white male between 25 and 35 years old, standing 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, and also dressed in all black.
