 The theme of the ninth annual Los Angeles Garden Tour & Party, sponsored by the Windsor Square-Hancock Park Historical Society, is “The Plight of the Honeybee.” This community tour and fundraiser includes a bee-friendly demonstration garden in a beautiful setting overlooking the Wilshire Country Club; a personal garden tour with a historical researcher and enactor Gay Storm Oakes representing former first lady Lady Bird Johnson; honey-tasting; a bee-oriented fashion show; and a wildlife habitat booth.

The event raises funds to help green Los Angeles. This year’s tour will fund a landscaping project at Los Angeles High School. Previous tours have raised more than $250,000, helping beautify local communities through landscaping and hardscaping at local schools and neighborhoods.

This 12-thousand square foot exhibition features more than seven-hundred artifacts including rare, historic, and iconic baseball memorabilia from Gary Cypres, the largest known private collector in the United States.

Play Ball! Presidents and Baseball  tells the colorful history between our presidents and the game of baseball using rare memorabilia and one-of-a-kind artifacts.

On display is correspondence between Richard Nixon and Jackie Robinson on baseball and civil rights, a ball signed by Honus Wagner to one of his lifelong fans, Dwight Eisenhower, a baseball phone given to President Ronald Reagan by baseball Hall of Famer Tommy Lasorda and more!

Dodgers: Brotherhood of the Game at the Japanese American National Museum explores the team’s past through four players; Jackie Robinson, Fernando Valenzuela, Chan Ho Park, Hideo Nomo and  Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda, each of whom made history in his own right.

This baseball exhibit is a collaboration among the Los Angeles Dodgers, Peter O’Malley and Family, and the Japanese American National Museum.

Bowlarama: California Bowling Architecture 1954-1964 at the Architecture and Design Museum of Los Angeles is a first of its kind exhibition that looks at architecture and technology that created a new kind of space-age recreation center and reinvented the sport of bowling in the 1950s.

Rarely seen photographs, drawings, and original artifacts take us back to a time when one in four Americans considered themselves bowlers, when glitzy 50-lane pleasure palaces were open 24 hours a day.
