1 Killed After Vehicle Veers Off 10 Freeway, Crashes Into Tree in Bloomington

A SigAlert was issued on Friday morning on the 10 Freeway in Bloomington after one person was killed in a solo-vehicle crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatality collision occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on the westbound 10 Freeway west of Cedar Avenue, the CHP’s incident log reported.

A witness reported that the vehicle’s tire blew right before it veered off the freeway and crashed into a tree, according to the incident log.

The SigAlert was issued around 4:20 a.m. and two lanes were closed while authorities investigated the collision.

It was eventually canceled and both lanes were later reopened.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the person killed in the crash.
