SCAQMD residents have an opportunity to help clean the air by exchanging an old, operable gasoline-powered lawn mower and purchasing, at a discounted rate, a new electric lawnmower. This year, you have five models to choose from, with your cost being from $100 to $250 depending on the model you choose. Pre-registration is required There will be four exchange locations scheduled. See more than 30 native North American butterfly species and an array of plants that butterflies love at the Butterfly Pavilion at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
The museum is looking for volunteers to help with their work to stop the decline of the Monarch Butterfly by monitoring the Monarch Waystation at the Pavilion. This is where the California Native Milkwood has been planted. It’s a Monarch Butterfly favorite, which will help the butterfly survival predators and urban habitat destruction.
