A person was barricaded in a residence in the 5700 block of Aldama Street (map), according to Richard French, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.

The situation started when a search warrant was served before 9:30 a.m., French said.

Several SWAT vehicles and patrol cars were present at the scene, which is in a residential neighborhood. Dozens of armed officers were in the area and at lease one street was closed off, aerial video showed.

Police officers were aiding deputies and a SWAT team from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, French said.

A sheriff’s helicopter officer said the barricaded person was a “female robbery suspect.”
