One woman was killed and a man was injured when a gunman opened fire into a crowd outside a party in Carson on Saturday night, authorities said.
Homicide detectives were investigating the shooting, which occurred at 10:35 p.m. in the 19700 block of South Enslow Drive (map), according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident began when a fight broke out between several of the party-goers inside the location, deputies said. The fight moved outside to the street, where a man pulled out a handgun and fired several shots, the release stated.
A man and a woman were both struck by the gunfire, according to authorities. The female victim was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity has not yet been released.
The male victim was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made.
