Adam Ingala-Whiting was detained and subsequently arrested in the north San Diego County area on Monday, according to Lt. Jeff Hallock, spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The arrest follows an investigation into the death of Francesco “Joey” Bonomolo, 47, on May 4, the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement. Bonomolo was found deceased inside his home at the Vista Real Apartments, located at 27260 Los Altos (map), the statement said.

Based on preliminary information and evidence discovered at the scene, investigators believe a physical altercation may have occurred inside the apartment before Bonomolo’s death.

Ingala-Whiting was booked into Orange County Jail on a charge of murder and was being held in lieu of $1 million bail, according to the Sheriff’s Department. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 14.

Bonomolo’s official cause of death is not being disclosed due to an ongoing investigation, authorities said.
