Officials warned Thursday that wildlife may come out of their usual secluded locations in order to escape the heat.
One bear could be seen walking near Sierra Madre homes, cars and resting in nearby trees on Wednesday.
“When he was lying up in the tree he was panting, you could tell he’s just tired and hot like the rest of us,” Sierra Madre Police Department Chief Larry Giannone said. “The bear was wet from the bottom down so you could tell he was in someones pool or pond, which is common for this time of the year
A deer was also seen running in Burbank streets and multiple snakes found shade provided by local homes.
