2 Arrested After Allegedly Stolen Frito-Lay Truck Crashes in Paramount
Two people were arrested on suspicion of stealing a Frito-Lay truck that collided with several parked vehicles in Paramount on Friday morning, authorities said.
The truck, branded along its side with the Lays potato chip logo, appeared to have crashed into two sedans, an SUV and a pickup truck on Virginia Avenue near Alondra Boulevard (map), aerial video showed.
An adult and a juvenile were taken into custody nearby after the occupants of the truck fled on foot, according to Sgt. Joe Reveles of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lakewood Station.
The two were arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, Reveles said.
A man in a dark T-shirt could be seen standing handcuffed next to a sheriff’s patrol car, aerial video showed.
Deputies were called to the scene after the crash at about 6 a.m., Reveles said.
Four vehicles parked in front of the home appeared to have been damaged in a chain-reaction collision. Multiple residents were standing in front of the home, surveying the damage, aerial video showed.
The truck was stolen, Reveles said.
