LAPD Chief Charlie Beck was involved in a four-vehicle crash on the 118 Freeway in Simi Valley on Wednesday night.
The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on the westbound 118 near Yosemite Avenue.
The chief and his driver were not hurt in the accident, according to Officer Nuria Vanegas of LAPD media relations.
Beck sent out his own message via Twitter shortly after the crash.
I'm okay and thankful the others are not seriously injured. Thanks for checking on me. I'll be back to work tomorrow.—

Three other people were transported to the hospital in unknown condition, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.
