Homicide detectives were looking for two people believed to be involved in the shooting death of a man who was sitting in his parked vehicle in Lancaster Wednesday night.
The shooting took place at about 11:38 p.m. in the 1700 block of Sierra View Avenue (map), according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was sitting in a vehicle that was parked along a curb when two men approached on foot. One of the men then fired into the vehicle, the Sheriff’s Department stated.
The victim sped away, but his vehicle veered to the left and crashed into a cinder block wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release.
The two men believed to be involved in the shooting fled on foot in an unknown direction, according to authorities.
No other details were immediately available.
