Police were searching for a man in connection with the sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman who was attacked while jogging in Camarillo, police said on Friday.
The woman was running in the area of Santa Rosa Road and Upland Road (map) on Thursday night when she was knocked to the ground and sexually assaulted, according to a news release from the Camarillo Police Department.
The victim suffered minor cuts and bruises during the assault. She managed to get away and fled to a local business, where she reported the incident, the release stated.
Police were searching for a white or Hispanic male in his 30s, standing 5-foot-8 to 6-feet tall, and weighing between 180 and 220 pounds, according to the release.
He was seen wearing dark-colored jeans, a black or blue shirt and white shoes, according to police. The man also had a possible burn mark on his left bicep.

In light of the attack, authorities were reminding joggers and walkers to go out with a partner, and only in well-lit areas. Changing jogging and walking routes was also recommended.
