1 Person Airlifted to Trauma Center Pomona Crash

One person was airlifted to a trauma center after a single-vehicle crash that possibly triggered a second two-vehicle collision on a Pomona freeway.

Two crashes occurred on the eastbound 60 Freeway near Phillips Ranch Road around 2 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol officers at the scene.

The driver of a single-vehicle crash was found in the roadway and was airlifted to the trauma center at L.A. County USC Medical Center in Boyle Heights, video showed.

It was not immediately clear why the driver was in the roadway, officers said.

No other injuries were immediately reported.

Eastbound lanes were closed for about 30 minutes.
