The incident occurred in Sycamore on Saturday after the teen took the vehicle without permission from his grandfather, who had reported it stolen, according to television station KSTU.

Police looking for the vehicle were eventually able to locate it after a tipster spotted the car, the station reported.

A pursuit then ensued and took a frightening turn when the white car drove through a park filled with children.

Get out of the way,” a woman can be heard screaming as the car barreled through the park.

The chase ended when someone in a pickup truck blocked the driver from entering the park again.

β€œThe person driving the truck could see it was turning back into the park, and he did not want the car to hit all of the children, or any of the children, and he actually pulled his truck in the way so the car collided with the truck,” Officer Erin Behm with the Syracuse Police Department told KSTU.

Neither driver was hurt.

The teen was taken into custody, the station reported.
