Singer Chris Brown was released from jail early Monday morning, several months before completing his one-year sentence, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials confirmed.
Brown, 25, was sentenced to a year in jail by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge in early May for violating his probation for the 2009 attack on his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
The R&B singer admitted in court to getting arrested last October and being charged with assault in an incident outside of a Washington, D.C. hotel.
Brown was released just after midnight on Monday from the county’s Inmate Reception Center, L.A. County sheriff’s deputy Don Walker said.
