Parts of Southern California felt a jolt early Wednesday as an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.0 hit near Barstow, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake hit around 2:40 a.m., and was centered nine miles northeast of Barstow, the USGS website reported. It had a depth of about 1.4 miles.
Shaking was primarily felt in Barstow, according to responses on the USGS website, but it was felt as far away as Woodland Hills and Las Vegas.
No injuries or damages were reported.
Barstow is about 115 miles away from Los Angeles.
