Texas mansion teetering on the edge of a cliff above Lake Whitney turned into an Internet spectacle Friday when the owners purposely had the massive home burned down.
The decision to destroy what many would consider a dream house came after owners Robert and Denise Webb were advised it was the best way to minimize damage to the area below, the couple told news outlets.
So they hired a demolition crew to torch the home and then pull debris away from the edge. Emergency crews were on hand in case something did not go as planned.
Multiple TV news stations covered the burn, and Texas papers reported several hundred spectators were on hand to witness the house topple.
