Sheriff’s deputies said Sunday that a Whittier man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed his parents and sister multiple times then barricaded himself while armed with a knife.

Deputies from the Norwalk Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 14100 block of Mystic Street (map) Saturday night, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Upon arrival deputies located the suspect’s mother, father and sister who had all suffered multiple stab wounds.

Alexander Michael allegedly stabbed his father after a family argument and was possibly under the influence of narcotics, the victims told deputies.

The mother and sister were allegedly stabbed while trying to intervene, the news release stated.

A special weapons team was requested after Michael barricaded himself in a shed in the house’s rear yard while armed a knife.

The 34-year-old eventually surrendered without incident and was booked at the Norwalk Sheriff’s Station for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. He was held in lieu of $1 million, the release stated.

The victims were transported to a local hospitalized.
