Investigators were searching for additional victims of a 35-year-old former Christian camp counselor accused of molesting a young boy nearly 10 years ago in Santa Barbara County.

Ronald “Chad” Williams was taken into custody in Honolulu, where he currently resides, for allegedly molesting a boy while he was the director of the San Marcos Christian Camp in 2005, according to a news release from the Santa Barbara Sheriffs’ Office.

The victim only recently reported the alleged abuse, which allegedly occurred when he was 10 to 11 years old, the release stated.

Williams was the director of the camp, located in an unincorporated area of Santa Barbara County off Highway 154, for approximately one year between May 2005 until June 2006.

At the time of the crime, Williams and the victim were the only people at the camp, the release stated.

Detectives were concerned there may be more victims.

Anyone with information was urged to call the sheriff’s detective bureau at 805-681-4150 or the Tip-Line at 805-681-4171.
