An investigation was underway into a shooting in Hollywood on Monday, capping a violent weekend in the area that left one dead and at least six others injured in three separate incidents, authorities said.

The latest incident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Las Palmas Avenue near Hollywood Boulevard (map), a short distance away from the popular Hollywood and Highland shopping and entertainment center, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division.

No victims were initially found related to this latest incident, but an officer at the scene said investigators found multiple casings at two different apartment complex parking structures, as well as possible blood splatters.

A large police presence was visible outside the Rubix Hollywood on Monday morning, and some officers appeared to have their guns drawn outside the apartment building, video from the scene showed.

Monday morning’s shooting was the latest in a string of violent incidents over the weekend that began on Saturday night when a man was stabbed at Lure Nightclub (map), police said.

Hours later in East Hollywood, a gunman opened fire inside Monalizza Restaurant and Banquet (map), leaving one person dead and five others injured, according to LAPD.

The shooter remained at large as of Sunday, LAPD Officer Drake Madison told the Los Angeles Times.

The first two incidents in Hollywood occurred during two of several celebrations that were put on before the 14th BET Awards at the Nokia Theatre, but neither of the events was affiliated with the awards show, according to BET Networks CEO Debra Lee.

All three incidents were being investigated by police.

KTLA’s Dave Mecham and Alberto Mendez contributed to this report.
