Los Angeles police on Tuesday took a man into custody following a vehicle pursuit that began in Pacoima and ended in Pasadena.
The incident began at 4:18 p.m. when officers were flagged down at the intersection of Foothill and Van Nuys boulevards (map), according to Sgt. Kalus Edgell of the Los Angeles Police Department. A chase ensued, and continued for about 20 miles until the black four-door pickup truck pulled over alongside the curb on West Del Mar Boulevard, near South Fair Oaks Avenue.
The driver briefly fought with the officers, who then used a Taser on him, Edgell said.
After the man was detained, aerial footage showed officers and paramedics putting him on a gurney and loading him into an ambulance.
He was transported to Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, the LAPD said. His condition was not immediately known.
It was unclear what prompted the pursuit.
