The collision was reported just before 9:30 a.m. just north of Imperial Highway (map), according to the California Highway Patrol’s online traffic incident log.

“Glass is all over the roadway,” the CHP site stated.

In addition to the big rig, which was loaded with recycled glass, two other vehicles were involved in a collision, the site stated.

In a phone interview, CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos said reports that another vehicle was involved were still unconfirmed. Traffic was backed up to the 105 Freeway to the south, he said.

The truck blocked three lanes and the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes were blocked with glass debris until workers were able to clear the one lane for traffic, according to the site.

All lanes reopened just before 1 p.m., when a SigAlert that was issued about 9:30 a.m. was lifted.

No one was injured, Villalobos said.
