Scam Targets Orange County Toll Road Users

Since Orange County toll roads switched to a cashless system in mid-May, scammers began targeting those unfamiliar with the changes

Many have received emails from EZ Pass that were a “fishing scam.” Officials say the emails state that people have not paid a recent toll, and either trick them into disclosing personal information or load software onto their computer that steals the information.

Violators would not receive an email about owing money, but rather get notified through the mail.
