Two westbound lanes on the 210 Freeway (map) were reopened Wednesday morning following a big-rig crash and small fire in the Sunland neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The truck apparently hit a guardrail shortly before 5:30 a.m. on the right shoulder of the interstate, near Sunland Boulevard, and flames briefly ignited some nearby brush before being extinguished by L.A. county and city firefighters, aerial footage showed. No other vehicles were involved.

It was unclear if the driver of the semitrailer was injured in the incident. News video showed paramedics placing one person on a gurney into an ambulance.

A SigAlert was issued by the California Highway Patrol, which said two westbound lanes would remain closed until further notice.

The shutdown caused a backup of about a mile as the morning commute got underway.

No other information was immediately available.
