Hit-and-Run Driver Sought After CHP Officers Find Body on 10 Fwy in Boyle Heights

Officials were searching for a hit-and-run driver after discovering a body on the 10 Freeway near downtown Los Angeles Thursday morning.

A report of an animal on the eastbound 10 Freeway in Boyle Heights was made to the California Highway Patrol around 1:44 a.m., according to a news release.

Responding officers found a body lying on the right shoulder of the freeway west of State Street and determined a pedestrian had been struck by an unknown vehicle, according to a statement from the CHP’s Southern Division.

Two lanes were closed until around 5 a.m. due to an investigation.
