Man Shot by Sheriff’s Deputies After Brandishing Gun in Los Angeles

An armed man suspected selling narcotics was injured during a deputy-involved shooting in an alley in the Broadway-Manchester area of Los Angeles early Sunday morning.

Deputies learned that a man known to sell narcotics was in an alley near South Main Street and West 118 Street (map) and responded around 3:46 a.m., according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department news release.

The man pointed a gun at a responding deputy who then shot the man once in his mid-section.

The man was hospitalized; his condition was unknown as of 9 a.m.
