Culver City Mall Searched by LAPD for 2 Burglary Suspects

Los Angeles police searched the area around a mall in Culver City on Friday afternoon in an effort to find two burglary suspects.

Two sergeants were following two burglary suspects when the wanted individuals went into the former Fox Hills Mall, according to Officer Sally Madera, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department.

A perimeter was being established around the mall after a call came in about 1:50 p.m., Madera said.

The effort was called off within an hour, but police would not say if anyone was in custody.

Multiple patrol cars and an LAPD helicopter were on scene, aerial video from Sky5 showed.

Now known as Westfield Culver City, the mall is at 6000 Sepulveda Blvd. (map).

No other information was immediately available.
