Man Hospitalized After Gun Club Shooting Injury in Santa Clarita: Sheriff’s Department

A man was hospitalized Friday afternoon after a shooting or gun malfunction at a Santa Clarita Valley gun club, authorities said.

The accidental “shooting injury / gun malfunction” was being investigated at the Oak Tree Gun Club about 4:20 p.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated on Twitter.

A man in his late 20s was taken to a hospital, according to the tweet.

The Oak Tree Gun Club, in Newhall, bills itself as “Southern California’s premier shooting facility” on its website.

The club, at 23121 Coltrane Ave. (map), opened in 1973, the website states.
