Rick Knudsen, 53, of Calimesa, was the only person in the country to match all six numbers (5-31-34-41-74 and Mega number 3) during the Aug. 22 Mega Millions drawing.

Knudsen, who has five children, bought five Mega Millions Quick Picks for the drawing, according to a California Lottery news release.

Knudsen waited until Sept. 2 to claim his prize and has decided to take the lump sum of cash option totaling $107 million before federal taxes, the news release stated.

The Inland Empire appears to be on a roll, according to Lottery officials. A little more than six weeks ago, John “Jack” Long won a $60 million Powerball drawing in Fontana when he matched all of his numbers on July 19, the news release stated.
